Rear sliding door trim removal
#1
My 2016 Partner came with a missing rear window external screwcap.

I've bought a genuine new one from ebay, but the inside screw is partially covered by the doors white plastic handle forward of the rear window.

I can just get a Torx driver in there at an angle, but it chews up the white plastic when I try to turn it to refit the new screw cap.

Is there an easy way to remove this white trim to get better access to the internal screw?

Thank you in advance.

I got better access by opening the window as wide as possible . To get even better access I disconnected the window catch . It did entail popping out a blank that covered the screw that held it to the glass.
If removing the white trim is as bad as trying to remove the door card , then removing the catch is the easier option. No new plastic catches needed.

That is if you have the same sliding door windows as a B9 xtr

Thank you for that.
I can do it if I damage the white trim, but removing the latch will be the better solution.
Do you know if the Haynes manual covers trim removal for other situations like this?

The Haynes manual does cover trim removal of passenger doors for both the van and mulispace models.

Like most recent haynes' it is pretty vague but if you think it will help, PM me and i will get the relevant pages sent to you
