This is what I use, together with Heko wind deflectors on the front windows, to promote airflow throughout the vehicle (when stationary) whilst ensuring the vehicle remains secure

It seems to be a widely available item for VW transporters but works well on a berlingo tailgate.

Gives you 100mm (4inches) of standoff which means the gap at the sides is around 2 inch at the widest point.

I bought one from ebay..It does the job fine though I do seem to worry it will get stuck in the door open position. I guess me just being nervous.
