Hello
Im hoping someone may have an answer i have owned my berlingo multispace since new 2010 , recently ive noticed a howling/whistling noise, quite loud on motorways and going at speed, it seems to be coming from small air vents nearest the doors, i can have the heat on and normal vents its warm but when i put my hand over these small vents i have cold air blowing in, im wondering if ive knocked something somewhere that has opened these but searching and in the manual i can find nothing and it hasent always been there so can anyone help as its driving me mad driving .

That sounds like a bloomin' nuisance! I think with a new car still under warranty I would take a very quick visit to your Dealer
or a Citroen Authorised repairer to have a look. If you ring them first to tell them what the problem is so that they know you're
popping in, I should think the fault would be identified very quickly.
Hope this helps....

I would have thought the little vents are connected up to the main heating system and therefore blow hot and cold based on the temp setting.
Could be a hose has come off at the back of the dash, but unlikely to be anything you've done by the sounds of it.

Thankyou both for replies, its definately coming from passenger and driver sides not just one side, and definately cold air coming in from the small vents nearest the window just cannot really tell if thats exactly where the noise is, i first noticed it after i had cleaned inside the car hence thinking there maybe something i dont know about where you can shut these vents off, its so loud on motorways you can hardly hear the radio, i will contact a dealership if nobody has a answer but didnt want to seem to be having a blonde moment if it was something simple.

Sharon, don't be frightened of querying these things with your dealer. They have a duty to keep your car in
first class order and I very much doubt if you will be seen to be a "dumb blonde" as being expert with
Citroen cars is their job.
So you tell them all about it and as my mate ^Tucker^ said it sounds as if a hose may have come adrift.
Let us know how you get on.

Yes warm air should come from vents with heater on, the amount depends on where you have rotary switch. It does sound as if something has dropped off. Book it into your main dealer workshop for work under warranty, it sounds like something that could be fixed while you wait.
