light/horn issues - try resetting com2000

It seems that the com2000 can be reset like the BSI. This might cure strange lights/horn behaviours?

I found it in this forum from 2008:

In 2018 its author James Sinclair also put online a simple 2-page manual on doing the same thing, and the notes below are borrowed from both sources:

"The units gave a lot of problems until 2007. The original manufacturer went bankrupt due to poor quality units and replacements. The stalks and switch plastics were vacuum formed which gave rise to them failing.
However – sometimes they do just get confused and require resetting."

1. Remove the lower cowl from the steering column
   (two T25 Torx screws) [my M59 has 3 T15s - Rasputin]
   
2. Ignition on.
   
3. Disconnect grey 6 way plug from Comm. 200
    [Under steering wheel behind trim - R]
   
4. Wait 3-5 seconds; lights come on.
   
5. Switch ign off and wait min 2mins.
   
6. Reconnect comm. Grey plug.
   
7. Switch ign on.
   
8. Switch ign off.
   
9. Put wiper stalk in auto or intermittent position.
   
10. Put wiper switch in off position.
    
11. Allow BSI to shut down min 2 mins.
    
12. Switch ign on.
    

Maybe someone with weird lighting or horn issues could give this a go and report back?

As for the problems up til 2007, interesting. I've read elsewhere that units made by DAV are poorer quality than others - could this be that?
