#1
Has anyone managed to mount a leisure battery under the bonnet rather than in the car ?
Mine is a 2002 1.4
Cheers

My standard 1.4 battery crapped out last Easter, so I thought I'd put an almost new leisure battery in its place and use that for a while, but the battery 'box' - rigid plastic - is too small and there's no scope to either remove or enlarge it as there's a lot else in the way. I don't see that there's enough space elsewhere in the engine compartment if you're planning adding the second battery. It's a mighty heavy item to secure safely.

There isn't a lot of space.  There is a void below the bottom of the battery and fusebox going into the nearside wing. half the battery would be behind the back of the radiator. Was thinking a making a shelf suspended from above fixed to the chassis where the fresh air intake duct is fixed. and or possible re route the fresh air intake
