Oil warning and stop lights flashing when turning
#1
2010 : Citroën Berlingo MPV 1.6 HDi 90

I have an odd problem with my Berlingo. I had to get the gearbox changed. It was up on the hoist for two days, with the battery out.

Since this was done, ever time i turn sharply, the "oil pressure" warning flicks on the a few seconds, beeps three times and then goes out.

This does not happen when going up/down the ramps in a multistory carpark.

I checked (as did my mechanic) the oil levels, and it's full. Someone suggested changing the oil filter, and i see a comment on the M59 Berlingo to top up brake fluid while raising front of van off ground.

Any ideas please?

If the car was mine, I would be removing the sump @ checking for debris in there, and checking the pick up for blockage.
Yours will be a 16 valve engine & that light is the early sign of terminal failure, don’t assume it’s just an electrical fault.

So finally got the problem solved, the mechanic opened the oil sump and the oil pickup pipe or the oil strainer was broken. Now that it is replaced, all seems good.

Wow, that was a close call. Glad you got it fixed & posted an update.
A good pointer for anyone else with similar problems.
