Sliding door roller replacement
#1
Hi all,

I'm new to the Forum and the Berlingo having just bought a 2013 multi-space 16hdi with a view to using it as a micro-camper next year.
Currently working through a few issues and niggles - mainly age related stuff - on the whole though the car is in in good condition and runs very well at 70,500 miles.
One problem I have is with the side doors - they seem to be 'skidding' rather than 'rolling' - noisy and stiff in operation.
Wondering if anyone has changed the rollers on these or could point me to a link on a 'how to' (I have looked on youtube etc but can't seem to find anything on the Berlingo/Partner) Also best place to buy replacements ?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Cheers

Steve

I don't have a howto mate, but try your VIN at http://www.catcar.info and then drill down to rear doors etc, there will be a diagram with part numbers listed below. If the rollers are available, they will have a number. Copy the number down and search Google.

If you get a part number but can't find a part, then try emailing mike@endonservices.co.uk and tell him your VIN, reg number, part number and all. Describe what you are after and he will supply a cost for the part, they are independant PSA parts dealers. Their website is crap but the parts service is good in person so to speak.

The rollers and channels are easy to remove and replace all you need are some short torx bits and a 1/4 drive ratchet, you might want to support the weight of the door on a jack with some padding so you don't damage the paint. it takes about 5 minutes to change the middle roller which is usually the first to cause problems, the vertical roller gets a flat on it and sometimes the plastic tyre splits and comes off. You can sometimes get them second hand on ebay or from a scrapyard, but check that the rollers are in good condition before buying. If the paint is wearing off the channels you can take them off rub the worn areas smooth, mask them up and paint them with aerosols.
