[Warning Light] injector wiring diagram
#1
hello to everyone, i have a berlingo b9 1.6 petrol multispace 2008
it keeps putting up a injector open fault code and badly lacks power
i checked the resistance of all the injectors and all are the same
i cleared the fault code and no more have come up but still the problem persists
i checked my haynes manual and it does not show the wiring diagram for the injector circuit
can anyone supply a copy of the wiring diagram for the injectors
many thanks in advance for any suggestions / help Smile

'Injector open' isn't an electrical fault.
It means the needle in the injector is stuck in the open position.

Does it list which injector?
(Cylinder 1 is the one closest to the flywheel on French cars. )

It may be possible to refurbish the injector, but it may just be as easy and not all that much more expensive to buy a new set and replace them all.
Oh, and since there's a good chance that a lot of unburned fuel is passing through the engine, your catalysator is at risk of being destroyed also, so I wouldn't drivee it unless I really had to.

thanks for the info, it was injector number 2 , i checked all the voltages today and all was well, i think you have found the fault. i recently had to replace the cat so possibly linked to the injector fault,

IF you intend to replace the injector, I would suggest swapping the fuel filter on the car and cleaning the high-pressure reservoir.
It's possible that the injector has been jammed with dirt.

I've used Mr Injector for refurb parts for my injectors in the past,
https://mrinjectoruk.co.uk/default.aspx
They're not currently selling parts, though, but still have a couple of service centers that can do the work for you.

just an update , i replaced all the injectors with brand new ones and sealed everything up so no air leaks and checked all connections but still the problem persists
the car will quite happily rev when stood still but when under way it wont go past 40mph and really sounds not happy
im now at a total loss as what's wrong
again any help or ideas are gratefully received, thanks

Does it smoke? Does it start right away on the button?

I have to start thinking about things like compression, partly blocked DPF, fuel pressure and turbo boost.

No 1 guess would be low boost pressure, followed by low fuel pressure but you'd have warning lamps on and fault codes. Next would be a blocked exhaust.

Tell me, does it have any kind of tuning box fitted?

just a quick update did compression test and got readings from left to right of 140, 125, 130, 140 psi
watched live data and noted ltft was -6.5 not sure if this means anything, other readings looked ok
drove car again still will not accelerate over 40 makes odd noise if pushed for more speed
expansion tank fills to bursting and overflows once car warms up
checked plugs all look the same colour
this is a 1.6 petrol 2008 reg berlingo multispace

thanks for any help given i really appreciate everyone's help
