[Engine] Berlingo 2001 runs on two cylinders when warm

Hi all!

I have some trouble with my Berlingo 2001 (1.6 - 16v petrol)

It runs great when cold but manages to only work on two cylinders when it gets warm.
I have changed the DI and the sparkplugs with no success.

It would have been easy to know what the problem is with an obd 2 reader but where the connector shuld be are only an empty hole.

I have googled around everywhere to find some info but can't find anything.

some people talks about relays but the only relays i have found are four small ones next to the brakepedal and one behind the battery but no one knows what they are for.

Hi,
Did you check compression ?

On some older belingos I have seen connector under the bonnet
but it is not OBD so you will need lexia.

Might be worth checking the tappets. There would be clearance when cold but as things warm up and expand the clearance may disappear.

Also as it is 2 cylinders dropping out, could be one coil pack if your model has 2 packs - using 1 per pair of cylinders.

Compression is ok.
coil pack is changed with the fault still there

when i checked the ignition earlier today it disappears on cylinder 2 and 3 when warm

Did you check the compression hot?

Ah, would that be a two-spade connector?

That would explain the extra lead which came with my Lexia.
Same as the one ending with an OBD plug but it ends with a two-prong plug instead.

Emjay72, if you can find one of those connectors under your bonnet and can find someone with Lexia then you can diagnose the car.

I have'nt find any connector for Lexia either =(
And i don't know anyone who has Lexia reader.

I was out in the garage yesterday and checked cranksensor but it maked no difference.

i recognized that when the faults coming (when the car have been warm) The signal to injector 2 and 3 dissapear and also the spark on cylinder 2 and 3

Your car SHOULD have the regular OBD II connector under the dash. Mine's a 1999, and it has it.
could you snap a couple of pics of the area with the BSI/fusebox and towards the steering column?

A drop-out of the 2 and 3 cylinder spars should register as an enine fault, the check engine light should come on, and it will be limited to about 40mph because it enters 'Limp home mode'.
(That's the ECU doing it's work. )
Does the 'Check engine' light come on when you switch on the ignition?

One additional question; was this bought used, and if so, from a Citröen dealer or someone else?

Under my dash where the obd  connector should be are only an empty hole, (checked around if it had fallen down behind but can't fin any)

the check engine light sometimes blink and sometimes just lights up (only whith the engine started)
The speed are as usual if i want to but takes longer to get there. haha

the check engine light comes on even when the car i cold and runs ok
