[Engine] Replacement of spark plugs
#1
Hi I am an innocent 72 year old that used to maintain old cars. I bought some replacement spark plugs for my Berlingo Multi-space 1.6. I cannot figure out how to take off the plastic cap arrangement from the top of the spark plug. I have disconnected the electrical plug but am puzzled by the complicated looking plastic /rubber covering. Please see attached photo. Can anybody put me out of my embarrassment?

Welcome!

That looks like a coil pack to me, but best wait til someone that knows the petrol engines to come along.

Fraid I know no more despite having a 1.4 petrol! And I'm only a spring chicken (58)!

But I did find these as a starter for ten:

(stops just when you want it to carry on, but at least it's a good intro/overview)

(concise and useful)

1.4 engine:

(I suggest you take notes down from the next one first - this one has no narration)

Other Citroens:

(annoying intro but the main video's narration is good IMHO)

I think they get levered up out of the hole individually on the 1.6 with something non aggressive like a plastic pry tool but you can try just pulling up and wiggling at the same time Alan.

The tray with the wiring stays where it is by the look of it.

Again, I've the diesel version so could be talking tripe....but I'll check my Haynes manual and come back after first cuppa is made.

EDIT: sorry, my Haynes only covers the diesel models.

Yes they look to be the individual coil on plug type.
