I need to frust my ventation somewhere, and since it regards an OBD2 to DB9 cable I ordered, from seller kcou.oc in Ireland, I can do it here.
They sent a mini-USB to DB9 cable instead.
When I initiated a return, this is the reply I got:
Quote:Hello [buyer] As a seller, I am very sorry that you are causing unnecessary problems. Can you give us some pictures? This way we can report these problems back to our responsible departments and help you resolve them as quickly as possible. best regards
Grrr!
Serves me right for being a skinflint I suppose.

That sounds like a Chinglish reply! Have you looked at the sellers actual registered business details? Probably Guangdong province...
Click the sellers name in the listing, scroll down, then click legal information or whatever the button is named, takes you to their business registration address.
EDIT haha I am bang on, see the screenshot of this sellers legal details. In Ireland - my arse lol. You've been had by the Chinese mate
Always check that bit before you buy on eBay bud.

Says it all!
But even so, they could have done better. Even I could with just Goggle translate by retranslating back and fro a few times.
This sort of turn of phrase might intimidate some people.

googling "wu zhong qu lin hu xi yuan xiang hun sha chang" brings up a few different seller IDs on both eBay and Amazon. Never thought of doing that before.

@rasputin mate it's happened to everyone, usually if it's cheap, just write it off. If not, raise a dispute with eBay or PayPal.
You're a genuine fella and no one finds it funny that you got some rubbish instead of the correct thing. We've all been there.
The Chinese sellers always put "Manchester, GB" or "London, GB" so if the item location isn't a specific place (rather than an entire country or city) I look up the seller legal info. If its a Chinese address, I move on and look again.
Years ago, I got stung for £750 online buying jewellery for the wife's birthday. Turned out to be junk, from Chinese sellers pretending to be in the UK. it took weeks of stupid replies, in nonsense emails that made zero sense, I eventually went to PayPal and raised a dispute. Had the money back in no time. Back then, eBay was on the side of the seller. Not now.

Zion, thankyou for the lengthy and helpful stories. £750 - ouch! I am normally hot on checking seller addresses at the bottom of the page but this time was sidetracked by their being in Ireland - so i didn't check. lesson learnt.
I have been told that eBay will let you have two user accounts but any more will rankle them - I have two, one for buying and one for selling, but never tried my luck with more. But I think I now know what's going on, having noticed for ages that Chinese sellers seem to have multiple user accounts. I think they may be registering two in each eBay territory, i.e. ebay.co.uk, ebay.ie, ebay.com, and so on.
I have written it off - less than a tenner. They have offered me a 50% refund or a replacement, I am pushing for 100% refund for now.
cancunia, yes I am, or at least planning/hoping to. My earlier interest in com2000s and adding cruise control has mutated into swotting up, on canbus and vanbus. I may even actually build a nixie speedo, just for fun and NOT for permanent installation!
One hope is to write up as comprehensive an account of PSA vanbus as I can for deposit in this forum as reference, even though I know potential interest in it is limited and dwindling, now that PSA dropped it some time ago (c.2009?) and fully embraced canbus.

I have bought items from china with mixed results. Basically if the names funny (not ha ha) or it states from China i don't buy it.
Ebay still seem to drag their heels stating the seller has 30 days to respond, if you miss the 30 day mark they do not want to know.
Paypal are a lot better and the card associated with you ebay account even better. Credit card compamnies have very long arms.
