Combo Life Owner In peace - stop start
#1
Hi,
I have owned 3 Berlingo multispaces in a row, but when it was the time to change car this year the near identical Vauxhall Combo Life was considerably cheaper than the Citroen Berlingo so we went with the 1.2 Combo Life!

Anyway, as my car is near identical to the Berlingo & Rifter, here is my main question

On my combo life (registered Jan 2020) the stop start can only be deactivated by going through the menu on the touch screen.
This is different to the Partner van I drove where it had a button situated on the lower right hand side of the steering wheel, likewise my friends Berlingo stop start button is in the same place.

My question is - is there a piece of software I can download that will allow me to turn off stop start permanently?

You can turn it off fully via the touch screen menu
Previous Berlingo: 2015 1.6 L1850 90ps In Artic Steel inc Look Pack and Lighting Pack.

Previous Berlingo: K9 2018 Driver M 100ps in Platinum Grey with Safety Pack

Current Berlingo: 2021 K9 Driver M Pro 130ps EAT8 in Platinum Grey with Safety Pack

I've got a K9 Berlingo and to deactivate it is also through the touch screen. But it will always reset to on when I start it up.
Now a 2019 K9 1.2 petrol.
Before a 2010 B9 1.6 HDi diesel.

Correct, it resets to on once the engine is turned off

Is there any software I can purchase to access the cars computer to do a permanent switch off ?

I posted recently that the latest release of Diagbox, covering up to 2020 vehs including Opel/Vauxhall, was now available. No idea whether it would actually do this though.

It shouldn't be possible to deactivate stop start, it's an emissions control I'm afraid.

Zion,
While you are correct, it is possible to have it permanently turned off.

I had a Ford Mondeo which had it permanently turned off by the dealer due to a fault with the stop start system, the easiest solution was to disable stop start as it was causing battery problems.

I have a few friends who have had it turned off on different makes & models, most used a mileage correction company who have access to the dealer software to make this change.

I would be interested to know if the Diagbox has this function
