Old Faithful

I've been on here before but not for a while so have re registered.

Bought my M59 Multispace in 2005 at just over a year old as specifically wanted the 2.0Hdi. Think that was the right thing to do as it's done everything I've thrown at it over the years. It's a bit battered and bruised but I just can't bring myself to replace it, what would I get?

I'm planning on a removeable camper conversion for solo use as hoping to do some more motorcycle rides further afield next year, probably DIY as another hobby is carpentry, upcycling and recycling. That all translates as cheapskate.

I do have larger bikes but they go on a trailer. This set up is ideal as it enables me to ride with groups all over the country without the need to do massive mileages on fast roads. Anyone who has ridden a Cub will know what I mean.

Welcome back!

I'm not the person to answer your question from experience, but others have been asking similar recently - see here for example:

You might want to check out the pre-2013 Ford Transit Connect T230 (the MPV version not the van). I had one recently with a high roof and more than one passing admirer commented that it would be great as a dirt bike transporter. It was certainly big enough to sleep in, and I'm 6'5" long! For example, see https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154238717152 - nothing special about this ad, picked it almost at random (lwb, high roof). You can also get 7-seater versions the same size ("Tourneo" - for example https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274603664973. I'm sure the 2013+ newer model is fine too, but I wouldn't know.

Thanks. I have friends with Transit Connects used in a similar way but am decided on using my Berlingo as a challenge.

I have been running a similarly part converted VW T4 for a few years. I'm keeping that too but mainly for use as a van. Some of the equipment will be used again such as the drive away awning and SMMEV stove/sink.

Had a long spell on crutches so bought a Smart Car as I couldn't drive a manual, went camping in that as a challenge. Have no plans to keep that one!
