Hey folks.
First and foremost, merry Christmas for when it comes around.
I’ll get to the point as quickly as possible with this. The timing slipped on my 2012 8 valve 1.6 HDI DV6DTED 9HP 93hp engine and the engine detonated. I’m not gonna waste my time sorting out everything that’s wrong with the engine so instead I’ve sourced another engine. It’s a 1.6 TDCI DV6 from a Ford C-Max.
How likely am I to run into catastrophic issues by doing what I intend to do? The engine is on 64k miles from the donor car. My dead engine is on 230k miles because it’s an ex taxi. My dead engine also had a new top end all but 2.5-3 years ago. I think the engine has given up the ghost so I think replacing it would best rather than rebuilding it.
The donor engine also came from an automatic mobility car and it’s going to be going into a 5 speed manual berlingo. Please tell me this is possible?
Any advice would really be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
