Screen cover M59
#1
Apologies if this has been sussed over the years I've been away.

I'll be making my own tailgate and side door silver blinds using bubble foil, foil tape and thumb tack suckers as done it before on my VW T4 and they roll up and fit in the awning bag. Rear quarters will probably be blacked out with vinyl because I have some spare.

Really wanted a blackout blind for screen and front windows though, searched but couldn't find anything at a reasonable price.

Today though I had a thought and a fiddle about ending in a real result. T4 blackout blind fits nearly as well as on the VW. It's 4 years old and has faded a bit as was left on for about 3 months and also used occasionally as a frost screen, it used to match my drive away awning.

Came from Fuel Lagoon who sell on eBay but they have their own website which appears to be a cheaper option. £32 delivered for a blue one, pink is cheaper. I'm not a dubber so won't be getting one with eyes (I'm cheap too).

OK so it could do with a nip and tuck but the doors hold it in place. New mirror has been ordered, the black duct tape has been on there since 2009, told you I'm cheap.

It looks factory finish, just stick some silver gaffer tape over it and you're good. ?
So where does this bit go then ?

£28 off eBay, splash of paint and lacquer, job done. Taken the old glass out so now have a spare.

I lived in an Essex new town called South Woodham Ferrers for 3 years and the local sport was kicking car mirrors off apparently. Got fed up of replacing it 11 years ago. Hope it's safe now.  Smile

So glad I rejoined the forum, pretty sure that without it the car would have gone long ago.

Our street had one similar a few years ago, one night the vandal did nearly £3000 worth of damage to cars on the opposite side to us before the police decided to show their faces. First time I cleaned the car someone went down the rear door with a ring or key. It must make them feel better about themselves in some small way.

Getting right off topic but. The Berlingo got damaged on a weekly basis for a while and still bears the scars. The Police presence in the town came from an office in an old Police house that kept office hours. There were 2 Community Support Sheriffs or whatever they called re trained traffic warden ladies back then. Their vehicle was a Smart Fortwo, all liveried up with lights and battenburgs but was still too big to fit down the rabbit warrens created by a new town built to be cycle way friendly. The scrotes knew this and used it to their advantage.
