Blowing F4 fuse
#1
Hello
I have an issue with fuse F4 blowing after ca 1h of driving Dodgy

My car is 2011 1,6HDI 90 FAP DV6TED4BU, vf77f9hscbj726183, left hand drive

I have read the thread
https://www.berlingoforum.com/thread-14631.html
Especially posts #17 and #24

Are these diagrams are applicable to my car? As from what I can tell I have AC on this fuse (light at the dash stops when the fuse is blown) and I the diagnostic socket keeps working despite the blown fuse. BTW my fuse blows despite AC is in OFF position all the time.

Can someone verify the location of the cables/plugs that the F4 is going to on my car ? A diagram similar to the mentioned posts would be really helpful.

Thanks for chipping in

Hi,

In that post I have explained the path of solving the issue.
The diagram is probably OK. Reading again the post it seems
you have FAP and that is also on F4. If AC is off and F4 blows
we can then rule out AC.
Disconnect FAP pump and check F4.
My car don't have FAP, so I don't know where to look for that.

Under the car or van, just forward of the driver's side rear wheel (UK) or the passenger side for EU, is a black plastic tank-shaped box, held on with a bolt. It covers the FAP pump and bladder / pouch system. The pump can be unplugged, try that and see if the F4 fuse holds.

I did disconnect the 3 pin plug underneath the van, on the FAP tank/pump housing - no change.

Then I followed the procedure from brajomobil's old post, where I disconnected 4 cables from the plugs on the BSI and then reconnected them with 55w bulb instead of a fuse.

The results clearly point out at a thickest white cable that is at PP plug pos #2. Where does it lead to, can someone share a diagram for this ?

That wire goes to FAP.

If you have disconnected it on the end and your fuse is blowing that means
the wire is broken some where and it is touching ground.

It is a pain to find that problem.

I checked the 3pin plug on the fap tank housing. It has 3 thin wires, pink, green and green-yellow. No white thick cable. Are you sure it goes to FAP pump? Are there more plugs on fap tank, maybe on top ( not accessible without removing the tank)??

Of course I am not 100% percent sure.
In my years with cars learned that diagrams are peace of shi...
Same car same year and diagram is different...

If you read the post you send that guy hat the same problem like you.
He did not manage to solve the issue...

There is no easy method of solving this.. only rule out...
The one that is left is the issue...

Disconnect that white wire form connector, leave it in "air" (insulated of course).
And check what is not working....
