[Filters & Oil] DW8B fuel filter housing changeover - solved

Hello all

I am about to install a new fuel filter housing but I cannot find a torque tightening figure for the screw.  It shows as item 70 on catcar link and is a self locking, self tapping screw [diam 8x125-25]

Can anyone help me please?

I'd go for 20 nm max

edit :

I don't use torque values just feel unless doing a head bolt or shell bearing .... anyway .. just use a light pinch and maybe with a nut spinner rather than say a socket and ratchet so you automatically limit the applied torque.

I tend to agree geoff.  After all, it is to clamp a plastic/composite face to an aluminium face for sealing.  We aren't trying to prevent a true structural load interface from separating!  It isn't structural per se.  I think I shall put a dab of blue thread lock on too after a thorough degreasing.  I'll see how 15Nm "feels".

Hi Geoff and all. Happy New Year.

I changed the filter housing yesterday, easy job really. 45 minutes to do.

The attachment of the housing onto the engine housing is achieved with an embedded steel boss to the molding. So we are clamping metal/metal. I went with a touch of thread lock and 15Nm. All sealed up, road tested and no leaks at temperature and pressure.
