That's what I thought at first, which is the inside dash area kind of, but not sure.... until they said on the gearbox....then I thought nah. But let's see. It's a new one on me if it's barnacle.

Update 2: Have now got the car back. The binnacle is the lump of gubbins on the gearbox that the cables from the lever assy attach to and it does all the gear shifting so quite a critical bit. Also a wash & vacuum as well (didn't have the heart to tell 'em that they were the last ones to wash it!).

Oh I've got one of them duff ears! Luckily one still works. (The wife says none of em work lol)
