K9 3rd Gen Berlingo 1.6 Blue Hdi Van... Engine Oil
#1
Hi Folks

I recently picked-up a 3rd Gen 2019 MY 1.6 Blue Hdi van to replace my trusty and much loved old Berlingo Multispace - all seems good at the moment.

Remembering the importance of using the correct engine oil in the Multispace (Total Quartz Ineo ECS 5W 30), am I correct in assuming that the same specification applies for the new 1.6 Blue Hdi, or is there a different spec for the newer engine?

Thanks in advance.

I would use Total Quartz first 0w 30 in the newer blue hdi engine

I would only use 0w30 in the new K9 berlingo but I’m not looking forward to doing high mileage in it with this oil.

I always used 0w30 in my 2016 model but it burns through oil with no obvious sign of leaks etc as they have all been fixed. It’s burning through 2-300 ml of oil every 1k.

Thanks both... I'll run with your suggestions of 0W30 and will likely, stick with Total.

I just hope that the consumption rate isn't anywhere near as high as Kingy indicates... else I'll be needing to find a bank/security van to rob!

Never had to top mine up in the two years of ownership - just leave it to the dealer to do, just rolling up to 60k miles now
