b9 berlingo k&n air filter

has anyone fitted a k&n replacement air filter  to a b9 1.6 110 diesel berlingo?
had good reports plus waste of time

Yes, I did.  The engine seems a little more responsive, but don't expect big improvements.  Sorry for my bad English ...

I wouldn't bother mate, little or no gain for a big outlay. Put the money towards a remap. Then you'll see a big big improvement.

Yes, I fitted a K&N when the standard filter was due for replacement & mucky. I also fitted a Bluespark CR Tech 2 plug in performance chip, which I felt made a substantial difference overall with the two items. I don't have the HDi 1.6 Van anymore and removed & sold the chip separately. The filter I just left in situ.

I've always been a fan of K&N filters but it's been years since I did a Dyno before and after test (on a Mk3 Escort) where it added about 4BHP from the filter.

The chip and filter combo didn't hurt the van/clutch/etc over about 50,000 miles.

I chose the plug in type chip so I could fit the bypass whenever it might "need" it for MOT reasons etc, but as the van actually improved in MPG, it was probably an unnecessary precaution.
