Replacing indicator switch

The Indicator switch on the column of my 99 van is a bit intermittent.

When you go for left, it sometimes works, or if it doesn't a little extra dab on the switch makes it work.

Once working, it normally stays working for that manouvre.

Is it an easy fix ?

Or does the steering wheel have to come off (with the airbag and all that entails).

The M59s have a com200 unit behind the steering wheel, so if you have one of them, then you do have to take the lot off. There are some youtube vids showing the process, even showing how to open up the com2000 and repair the switch rather than replace it. But I don't know when the com2000s came in, so you may not have one. In that case, I hope someone else has an answer!
