Here's a twist, I retrofitted heated mirrors to my B9. The heater control panel didn't have the heated rear screen / mirrors button but I discovered that the microswitch was actually in there and that I simply needed to modify the blank button to make it into a real button. I ran the wiring from the BSI to the doors and got the mirrors heating up.

Just a few days ago I was plodding along of a frosty morning and I remarked to myself that the van had heated up remarkably quickly with warm air coming out of the vents after only a couple of minutes. Having read another thread recently about a mystery auxiliary heater I wondered if maybe I had one that was only working intermittently or maybe was OAT triggered. I have just realised that it was the newly commissioned button for the heated mirrors that has made the difference.

So there we are! My van was built with an electric supplementary heater (that works really well) and no way to turn it on!!

Hello. Can you explain bit more how did you do it? Mine is 2016.,it has electrically adjusted mirrors,but no button for heating option,and i don't have rear screen because is a working van,could it be possible to install that option on my van? Thanks.

I think it works with  electrically heated mirrors,   most if not all  will have electrically  adjustment.

Hello. Yes,i would like to know,if i can do such modification to have heated mirrors? Already mirrors are el. adjusted,would be good to have them heated in cold morning or when raining.

Heated mirrors (and windows) don't have enough power to clear rain off I'm afraid.  Frost yes, raindrops no.

Not true,before i had 2011. berlingo with heated mirrors,and when mirrors we're warm,raindrops did dry quite fast,and it was working really good. Missing that option on berlingo that i now have.
