[Brakes] Abs faulty (again)
#1
So I'm having abs problems again 2009 1.6 xtr abs light comes on intermittently but only over 60 mph ( switch off restart light goes out) but light braking slower speeds the abs is cutting in sometimes and pedal pulsing also brakes judder slightly and when the abs cuts in the brakes pull slightly left.
So I suspected o/s/f sensor fault which I've changed cleaned connectors and descaled the hub no better.
Not had it fault code read yet but the pads are 70% worn and as the brakes judder I'm going to replace the discs and pads as the discs must be warped.
Previously I had to replace faulty abs relay and n/s/f wheel bearing so just wondering if the discs could be causing the problem or might be another wheel bearing issue?
Thanks in advance.

Your discs & pads won’t be causing the issue, it’s more likely that you have a problem with the air gap between sensor & pickup ring, or contamination in this area.

Thanks Mark I had the sensor out yesterday and replaced also cleaned the bearing face and hub where sensor fits but noticed the sensor is quite a tight fit in the gap is it possible when bolted in it's not going in far enough creating too much gap, any idea what the air gap should be?
Incidentally last week when driving in heavy rain the abs didn't cut in at all????

I have a little air powered grinder, (think dentist drill).
It’s great for carefully removing corrosion from the sensor groove .
The air gap should be tiny, probably 2mm or less.
Hope this helps.
