Roof Bars
#1
Hey, I’m after a good set of roof bars to fit the fixed points on my Parnter to attach a roof box.
Seen these ones for sale but not sure of the exact fitting or whether they are even correct at all. They are 108cm bars.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Can't really see the fixing method on them properly but pretty sure they don't have the tongue that is wound into the fixing on the roof by the cranked allen key you get.

I do have a mangled roof bar in the shed somewhere which I can photograph tomorrow to show you what I mean if required.

As it happens I should be removing my roofrack tomorrow to start stripping and painting it.

Thanks mate, one of the photos on the listing shows an Allen key. Would that be what you’re meaning?

Typically it's raining in Sarfend now but managed to find 2 mangled Citroen Bars to show what I mean. The 2 "tongues" are about 1080 apart but they are wound in by a long cranked Allen key (takes a lot of turns, fine thread). No key as think its 4.5mm and not got one of those. Just to show the principle really I wouldn't want anyone to think I like them. Now they're found they will be in the scrap pile for the metal scavengers when they start coming round again.[Image: DSC01364-2.jpg]

[Image: DSC01362-2.jpg]I couldn't find a link for Thule bars for the M59 but I know I nearly ordered a pair about 10 years ago from Halfords. The ones in your pics may well be them. I ended up with a Citroen full rack which has not fallen off yet.

Incidentally it looks like Micks Garage have M59 bars for about £110.

Update. Quite by chance I came across a key for the Citroen bars today.

Bizarrely it's not an Allen key it's 5 sided!!  Probably a PSA nod towards Chrysler/Simca influences.

16 years in my possession and used lots but never noticed.
