Hi all, just replaced my EGR valve and accidentally dropped the old blanking plate I had in there to test it. It’s fallen somewhere and for the life of me I can find it. I know it’s not ideal but the fact that it’s not a tiny screw or something that could wedge somewhere dangerous... if I can’t find it,is it an issue?
I’m stupid I know!
Thanks

It's not lying on the undertray is it ? (assuming your car has an undertray fitted)
If you have a small mirror try using that to see around the back of the engine and to look into the nooks & crannies.

Thanks jj.... yeah good idea I’ll try a mirror tomorrow.
I was convinced it wasn’t on the undertray cos my telescopic magnet didn’t find it but just realised it’s stainless steel.
Will have a look there again tomorrow too.
Thanks

When I did something like that I found a 10p piece fitted perfectly, or was it a 2p bit.?

Yeah BF, a coin fits in the tube from the EGR cooler to intake I believe.

Probably the best clunk you've ever heard!
