You can only reset the bag system using DiagBox mate. Nothing else can do it. You must have hit the 100k miles point, as the ECU can't measure the bag level, it only estimates it using mileage. So when replaced, it has no way of knowing it's full again.

Dealers can do it, or a PSA independent who has DiagBox. Or, you buy the DiagBox kit from eBay or online and install it on a Win7 laptop and do the reset yourself, not so straightforward though till you're used to the software. It takes a bit of PC savvy to install it. Plenty of videos on YouTube and guides on here and other websites regarding install and use.

Frenchcarforum has some good writeups.

We get one new user a week with this issue. Probably as some vehicles are now coming to that mileage point.

If you get it to try yourself, be careful. You can brick your ECU or BSI with it if you go trying things without understanding what the function does. Read up, watch the videos and write down any settings and what menu you were in before changing anything.

There is no undo function in DiagBox...it's Citroen's own system but has been widely hacked and copied. It's powerful, but not designed for use by the general public so documentation is sparse. But, generally straightforward if you take your time and read up before doing things.

I believe there's a garage specialising in Citroens with a good reputation at Welwyn GC - not massively far from you.
