Hi all,
My first post so Hi!
We have a 2012 1.6 Berlingo Van with 215k miles, in the last few weeks we've having issues with DPF, it's been regenned, unblocked, cleaned out several times in this time, same error comes back also now getting replace DPF. Is it time to quit and just get one replaced, and what prices on average do you think is acceptable?
Many thanks
Chris

The error is programmed into the BSI to fault the DPF at such high mileage. That will be why it won't help the error if you cleaned it or regen it.
You would need to get DiagBox (Citroen factory programming software) and tell the ECU and BSI that the DPF has been replaced under the replace parts menu. Otherwise I'm sure this issue will not go away. If the DPF really is clean, then there's no need to buy a new one. Even if you did fit a new one at great expense - this issue remains. So........
Just get a Citroen independent to tell it you've fitted a new one, or get DiagBox and do that yourself.
Plenty of guides on YouTube to using it and online regards installation on a laptop. Best advice if you get it, read the install instructions and follow them to the letter, and stop upgrading at v7.62.
Don't have the internet enabled on the laptop ever, during or after the install or Citroen will brick the software, it's hacked and not legit. It will dial in and they'll break your installation and you're in a heap of pain to remove it and install again. It takes many hours to install believe me. Hours.

Great advice from Zion, as ever.
If you get stuck, give me a call, not sure where you are located though.

Thanks Mark.
Chris, if you can get to Mark's garage it would be well worth your time. He's an independent PSA specialist and can resolve your problem. Check out the website in his signature and make contact.

Thanks both,
I'm based in Stevenage, Herts so quite the trek to Derby I'm afraid (especially in limp mode) it's my wife's work van so need a quick turnaround which so far has spiralled into the hundreds.

Spot on just rang them thanks, will weigh up options .. at what point do you throw in the towel and look for a new van vs handing out cash to keep it running

Thanks, might be useful for me too sometime.
I'm in Sarfend and we had/have a local independent Citroen garage that I've used for many years (since my Dyane/GS years) but whilst they are still going they seem to have become more mainstream.

To be honest, you've had it cleaned so just needs the ECU configuration edited to tell it the DPF is new, and it will be happy. I'd expect to see change from £50 for that lol. Less than an hour's work for someone with DiagBox.
Even if they offer you a new DPF which you don't need, they still have to code it into the ECU as a new part....same as when not fitting one but it's been cleaned out.
