Tailgate

Hi all ,can anyone tell me if i can get the tailgate support rods on ebay or are they dealer only parts ??? the tailgate is not going so high as it used to ,and its not doing my head any good at all ,(just a thought can they be repaired ???) Thanks

They're cheap as chips on eBay. Had my 04 model MS since 2005. I replaced mine about 10 years ago with pattern parts, might do them again. They're always a bit slower and need a little help in cold weather IMO so will think about it in Spring.

I ordered up-rated struts (~5% more force) from sgs engineering as I added a bit more weight to the tailgate with sound proofing. I have not had a problem with these since I put them on (1 year ago). You do not need to go for up-rated, the normal force ones are also OK. Prices were reasonable and one can phone them and ask questions.

I cannot quite remember, but I think they were offering to re-gas my old ones or something like that. It is a bit of a fuzzy memory for that bit, but you can just phone them if unsure.
