I believe it's for disabling ESP. ABS is standards, I don't know if my car has hill start assist.
If you hold your car stationary going uphill* by using the footbrake if on releasing the f/b there is a two second delay before it starts rolling backwards then you have Hill Start Assist. If it starts rolling back as soon as you release the f/b then you don't.
*more than a 5 degree slope
And the button is for ESP disable like I believe?
Yep.
One other point of the HSA - if the car rolls back on f/b release the HSA might not be working if fitted.

I contacted Citroen and my local dealership but as usual they weren't much help, they seem to know everything possible about a new vehicle you might be interested in buying but have very little information about one they have already sold you. Mine definitely has ESP/DSC whatever you want to call it, as standard as I didn't pick it as an option and they all have ABS obviously. As to the rest the guy at the dealership said this:
Hill Start Assist: "try it on a hill"
EBD: probably not (he Googled it while I was on the phone to him) was half expecting him to say "drive really fast towards the back of a vehicle in front of you then slam the brakes on and if it comes on you've got it"
Active City Brake: no definitely not. Even modern Berlingos don't have it as an option apparently (despite it being in the manual)
Haven't heard back from Citroen as usual, probably get a call in a couple of weeks from someone in Casablanca who will say "have you tried contacting your local dealership?". Good job on the aftersales care as always Citroen
