Moving without touching the accelerator
#1
I've got a 2015 van and sometimes when driving in 2nd or 3rd at low speeds I can take my foot off the accelerator and it maintains the speed, not using cruise control obviously. It's not really a problem as I can still brake/speed up if I want, is it some feature I'm not aware of?

i think it has an anti-stall system, you can idle in 1-2-3 gear, not sure if it works in the 4th gear

Same - it's normal anti stall / tickover torque. Mine will sit at 10mph in second gear all day with no throttle or 15mph in 3rd with no throttle. All cars do this.

Plus it can't get to zero speed unless you take it out of gear....or the engine would have to stall.

Not sure what you expected it to do, unless it's an automatic and even those will crawl in gear with no throttle input...

Ok thanks for the input. My previous vehicle was a T reg Astra so I'm not used to driving a vehicle with anti-stall. When I bought the van I had a read through the manual, am I right in thinking the driver aids included as standard are Hill Start Assist, ABS/EBFD, EBA and ASR/DSC? I think the Grip Control was just offered for the XTR but what about Active City Brake? Never got offered that as an option.

Mine is a 15 plate 90hp Enterprise

Only ABS is standard - the others are all options to be bought when new. If you don't have the big rotary control on the centre console for Grip Select then you don't have ESP, Hill Start, Grip Control etc or any of that stuff as far as I'm aware.

None of that is standard in the vans.

Still options mate on the vans. I guess they come as part of the XTR car spec?

It's always annoyed me they don't even fit traction control to vans as standard. The OP has a 2015 van.

I believe it's for disabling ESP. ABS is standards, I don't know if my car has hill start assist..

If you hold your car stationary going uphill* by using the footbrake if on releasing the f/b there is a two second delay before it starts rolling backwards then you have Hill Start Assist.  If it starts rolling back as soon as you release the f/b then you don't.
