Wow, that's had a right battering eh. That's what happened to my Audi 1.8T when the belt snapped.
Good to hear it'll be back soon.

That looks like a dog's chew toy. Any idea if you can get a refund from the original engine ? That was a real poke in the eye.
So where does this bit go then ?

The seller of (or the introducer as they like to be called) is point blank refusing to refund the cost so no further on that side of things. Just means should anything happen in future I WILL NOT be using nor recommending them to anyone. I wouldn’t have minded so much had the mechanic seller not sold the engine that I had paid for. EnginesOD are saying that buyers remorse is not covered but this isn’t a case of buyers remorse, the mechanic sold the engine from under my nose. I had sent the money in good faith that I’d receive a 9HP complete engine with 57k on it and since this has been sold by the mechanic seller how do they intend to supply an engine with the same or less mileage?
The pistons were completely goosed after colliding with the valves, it does actually look like a dogs chew toy doesn’t it. Lol

If they have not supplied what they said then they are in breach of contract and I would not even hesitate now and take them to the small claims court.
Are we there yet?????

New head arrived, new pistons and valves ordered after coming across the catastrophic damage to the pistons. Pistons 1 and 3 were FUBAR so replacing all 4.
The heads of the valves have obviously snapped off to cause that amount of damage, just as well you got a new head as that will be badly damaged also.
You've been unlucky, as shown in the video I linked to the pistons are normally fine & undamaged.
Hope it all goes well.

UPDATE
We have the money back from EnginesOD after sending them an email saying this wasn’t a case of buyers remorse, it was a case of an already purchased engine was sold after being paid for so Engines On Demand has refunded the money and told me that they won’t be working with the mechanic seller again.
Service kit bought for installation today.
A few more days and it’ll be back on the road and MOT’d. A few more days of repairs and testing then it’ll be the return of the Bingo Bus.

Well done getting your money back, these cowboy companies shouldnt be allowed to get away with it. Makes the engine rebuild cheaper now. Good luck with the rebuild.
