Radio problem

Hi, I fitted a new radio to a 98 van and now the battery light stays on all the time, I unplugged it and it went off so I have left it disconnected over night so I dont get a flat bettery... Any ideas? Do I need to swap or chop a cable? Thanks

You have a switched live and a perm live it sounds like you have them around the wrong way try switching them.
