Aldi battery charger
#1
Spotted this in Aldi today, as I've only got an old 'battery boiler' charger I thought it was worth a punt for 13 quid: Auto XS Car Battery Charger - ALDI UK

A good spec & a 3yr warranty.

Easily more than a few pounds cheaper than elsewhere too.

If anything like the Lidl versions it will be one of your better buys.

Agreed, I'm going to see if there are any in my local today.
The only downside I can see is that if you try to charge a deeply discharged 12v battery, the charger may think it's dead & refuse to charge, or may think it's a 12v battery. I have an old school, don't care charger for those circumstances.

I think this was mentioned in the reviews, but you can 'fool' it by briefly connecting a charged battery to the dead one I think it said.

Unfortunately, there were none in my local Aldi. I'll keep my eyes open the next time they come in.

Have a look on Aldis website Cancunia as they sell the surplus stock on there and you may be lucky bagging one.
Are we there yet????? Huh

Went to Aldi today ... they had battery chargers ... so I now have one.
The newest version will try to recover deeply discharged batteries & has a maximum charge rate of 5 Amps. I'll keep on the lookout for a Lidl version over the next couple of weeks and do a quick compare so long as it's not too late to return the Aldi version if needed.

Tried mine yesterday and it doesn't work, backlight comes up on the display and nothing else. Going to ring them today.

That's a shame, at least it has a 3 year warranty & if you're within 60 days of buying it they'll refund.
Sorry for a daft question, but did you have it connected to a battery?
