The later turbos are much better fed with oil. Yours should have the right angled exit from the compressor like mine, which don't suffer from the earlier problems. Looks like this:

Well that’s comforting to know.Yes mine is as the pic. Was going to remove the filter from the pickup as suggested in a thread I fell into. Runs and goes well just unsure of service record.

Yeah it shouldn't have the gauze fitted now as it gets removed on the first service, as I believe they put it on to catch particles created by running in.
