Buying or not buying ?.

As I am looking for a newer Berlingo than my 2001 1.4 I got offered this 2010 Berlingo 1.6 110 HDI

The looks great, and drives great, but, yes there is always a but, the warning light for risk of clogging filter is on, the has done about 200k kilometers, and everything else is working fine

He changed the particulate filter, but says the garage isn’t able to reset the warning light...

At first, I was running away screaming, but then I started thinking.....

The car is fairly cheap, so even if should put some money in the car repairing it, it could be worth it..

Can you, in your wisdom, give me a hint to what could be wrong ??

Or should I just start running away from the car again.....

There's nothing to repair if the DPF has been changed, you need DiagBox to tell the ECU it has a new particulate filter (FAP in French) using this software as nothing else can do that. If not, the warning will remain for ever as it's based on the mileage (km) covered. Once it is programmed with the "replacement parts" menu in DiagBox, that a new FAP has been fitted, it will go back to normal.
