Hi,
I have seen many threads on here about being able to obtain the 4 digit pin to enable key addition. Most seem a while ago and have been closed down.
I have a 2009 B2 berlingo van, it is the old key type without remote locking, there is a chip inside the key.
One of the 2 keys got broken and the chip was lost, i have refitted the blade into a new key blank, as expected the doors all open and the engine cranks but does not start.
I have contacted the dealership who advise they are not able to provide the code, they require the vehicle booked in with them the supply and install new keys and reader.
I have a Diagbox which can add keys but it requires this 4 digit code.
Is there still anyone on here that is able to source these codes?
Or perhaps suggest the best method of obtaining it.
I have the vin, but not a BSI dump? and not sure how to obtain one.
Many Thanx in advance
Rik

Not much chance on here mate. There are guys on MHAuto who can pull a PIN code from a BSI hex dump but I don't know anyone here who can do that.
You have to ask the admin on MHAuto for a code to join up, which costs £25 and is obtained by buying a fake product on another website they send you to.
A hex dump is obtained by removing the EPROM from the BSI lower PCB, putting it into an SOIC clip and reading the contents with an Arduino or a prom programmer. These can be obtained on eBay. But it's a big step to pull your BSI out, lever the two PCBs apart, not spark the processor board with static, desolder the EPROM and then read the contents with a programmer and then put it all back together, soldering the EPROM back in place and rebuild the BSI.
There are tools available that can read the pin code over the OBD socket like KESS etc but they are Megabucks, you'd be better going to Citroen. The basic KESS kit is like £1500 and the full monty can be £5k.
You can try the codes I have, one may work. These normally allow access to restricted BSI configuration items.

You should maybe be able to buy a pin code card from Citroen by contacting the customer care team and proving your ownership with V5 and ID. Then you can program your own key.

You can potentially read the EEPROM in circuit (soic adapter) without de-soldering and get the BSI dump. That is how I did it with the instrument cluster to convert a European cluster counting and showing km to miles ( https://www.berlingoforum.com/thread-16110.html) for a cruise control in the 1.6HDi.
Now, it is a tad more difficult, to put it mildly, to understand the hex code and what exactly it refers to and which bytes you need, i.e. get the 4-digit code. Those that know, charge money for it, but you may get some help from the MHHAuto.

All very esoteric! Seems like a cross between Dungeons & Dragons and Bletchley Park with Tom Hanks as the hero.

Your VIN number and PIN code can be clearly seen in the hex dump from the BSI eeprom but getting at it is not in the realm of the average Joe without potential damage to the BSI. If you're super desperate I can show you exactly how to do it.

Try another Citroen or Peugeot dealer.
They can get you the code for about £20-25, they will probably ask to see the V5 as proof it's in your name.
Last time I enquired about this for my M59 Berlingo, there were 2 ways..
1, Ask for a new card with the code.
2, Ask for just the code.
The second option was cheaper, but I think it may take a few days either way.
Another option is to get a proper car locksmith to cut & code a new key for you, they have special software that means you don't need the code, they will also be able to ensure that only the keys you have will start the car. I can be sure of this as I had it done on my Pug Expert.

Just to close this off.
Emailed Citroen Customer Services, they said they couldnt help and to go back to the dealer.
Tried a different dealer who was far more helpful, took photo ID and V5(s) in for both berlingo vans i have and got both codes, £16.67 each +vat.
New key added and now starts vehicle, so all good now.

Amazing how different dealers can be on the helpfulness scale.
Glad you got it sorted.
Did you get a card, or just the number for that price?
