It looks like I need to remove and clean the DPF on my recently acquired 2012 Multispace. I would appreciate any guidance that would make it as easy as possible please. I have to work on my drive but I do have a reasonable tool kit, trolley jack and axle stands. I am quite a mature guy and not a contortionist these days, so please be kind in the comments.

The ECU should clean the DPF by itself during natural regeneration cycles. Can I ask why you think you need to clean it and how many miles has it covered?
Removing the DPF is not a simple task and cleaning it in the driveway is not something I've ever seen anyone try - that's not to say you can't, but you might not end up with the results you hoped for. Burned on carbon in a dense baffled filter where you physically can't reach past the outer faces is likely very hard, if not impossible without harsh chemical pressure cleaning.

Thanks for the reply. Just 56.000 miles on the clock but for a few months now it's only been doing 6 mile round trips to the supermarket. I had the warning come up on the screen and then the engine light. I've been told to do a motorway run to clear things but I live near Skegness, no decent roads for miles around and with the current driving restrictions I don't want a hefty fine for being too far from my home locality.

What exactly was the warning in words? You still have 44k miles of life in the Eolys bag (if it's not burst) and same on the DPF warning (it hits 100k then assumes it will be shot but a professional clean brings it back again)
This could be a failed sensor, or actually clogged. A garage can instigate a standing regeneration using DiagBox if they have it.
Mind you, a steady cruise at 60 in 4th or 5th for 15 mins will trigger a regen as long as the coolant is over 65°

Thank you again. I'll ask locally to see if anyone has a Diabox and go from there.

That's Citroen specific software but can be bought on eBay and from diagnostic suppliers.
If you want to have a go on the drive, it's the big drum shaped thing below the turbo. Has a 3 bolt flange on the end where it attaches to the turbo, and a clamp on the other end to the flexy pipe from memory.

I'm not too far from Skeg, I have an older version of Diagbox that I used on my 2012 (62) B9 but I have never tried a DPF regen and don't know how to initiate one. Maybe a run down the A16 from Boston to Spalding would help? PM me if you want some help.

Thank you for the offer. I managed to find a garage fairly local and they're doing a regen for me Thursday morning.

Managed to have the DPF regen done this morning. Excellent service by Spilsby garage, Masonic Lane, Hundleby, Spilsby. Highly recommended for any repairs. Booked in for a cam belt, water pump and auxillary belt also. There's only 52,000 on the clock but at nearly 10 years old I'd rather be safe than sorry.
