Heater: This is what pain really looks like
#41
Thumbs Up
Good to see you got the resistor pack fitted, I guess by mentioning that it's fitted from the air intake and not from under the dash I saved you a lot of time and pain  Wink  . . .  I've no idea how you could have got it back into position from under the dash considering the fight you had to get it out.

The resistor sitting there in the air intake is more or less what I pictured / recalled from the ZX, I'm sure there will be enough spare cable to pull the resistor off far enough so the connector plug can be disconnected, just make sure to keep hold of the plug as you don't want it disappearing back through the hole into the depths of the dash!

I see you ended up having to remove the wiper motor as it is directly above the air intake, not sure what the layout would be on a RHD version so maybe the motor could stay in place or be worked around if you know you can reach in and reach the resistor.

The LED's look good and appear to give a good even illumination  Smile

It's not the 'remove a screw and pull it out' little package used on cars with AC.

This thing can NOT be pulled out of the hole it's mounted in at all.
I only got it out by removing the fan motor, yanking out the cable connector, then using a flex 'claw'(you know, the junk they sell that's supposed to be able to pick up nuts and bolts dropped into awkward areas) I pushed it towrds the front of the car and to the edge of the moving lid under it(I think its the one that switches between outside air and recirculating) and gingerly fishing with my  fingers in the gap when I tilted the lid...

And of course, I had to do this while laying across the front seats and with my head and one shoulder in the passenger footwell.

I expect getting a replacement into place will be an even greater adventure...

Someone please shoot me now...
