20 years old and still going strong.
Had to spend a bit of money on Bertie this year to get him through his MOT. Welding needed on sill.
He is serving me well as works van, does get some stick.
Had him 10 years, cost £350 to buy.
Amazing what you can get it the back of them with rear seats out.
2001 1.9D Multispace.

M49 berlingo is one of the few cars on the road today that I can understand what nearly everything does, how it works and repair it.

I think the M49 could be a classic in the making, similar to the 2CV - it broke new ground when it was introduced, does its job well, is relatively simple and dependable, and so endears affection. Though my local garage laugh when I tell them this....

Exactly that notsofast. I ran a citroen dyane for 10 years when they were worthless. Most people thought it was a pile of junk and poor relation of the 2cv. Try and buy one now. I think M49 will go the same way if the government doesn't tax them off the road.

I prefer the Dyane to the 2CV - I think it looks more elegant, has the practicality of the hatchback, and is less commonly seen. I had a Corgi or Dinky model of a Dyane when I was a boy - it was yellow if I remember rightly, though I recall painting it brown for some reason, and if I pressed down on it while pushing it along, the wheels made a sort of whirring whining noise, a bit like the real car's engine

. I might even still have it in my possession, hidden in a box somewhere.....

Ten years running about for £350, that's good motoring - applauding you now ! Still looks a tidy vehicle.
I remember I had a Citroen Ami Super 8 around about 1979, wasn't really that super tbh !
