Diagbox / Lexia v7.62 software DVD ISO & pre-installed VM

Sometimes when I start up the diagbox VM the USB will not connect sometimes it will. On the bottom of the VM screen there is a row of little icons one is the USB and if it connects a red dot flashes on it. I have to close down the program and restart the laptop if it's not going.

Does it connect if you right click on the VM USB icon & select the Actia device?

If anyone is using Linux as the host OS and can't see their Lexia cable in the virtual machines USB list try this: https://www.linuxbabe.com/virtualbox/acc...x-guest-os

It took me a while to figure out why Linux could list the USB cable  (as "PSA Actia" device) but windows on the VM couldn't. The command lsusb will show you the connected USB devices in a Linux terminal.

Basically the USB devices wont be passed through to the VM unless permission is given to Linux.

Under Linux, the User Permissions need to be set to allow USB access for VirtualBox.

Generally, there's a simple command that needs to be run, then you need to logout & back in:

Code:
sudo usermod -a -G vboxusers $USER

This is a very long thread. I hope somebody will see my desperate plea for help.
In time gone by I happily ran DB 7.57 on VMWare. Unfortunately that PC was stolen.
For the past few months I have been dancing with DB 7.57 on a 32bit Dell with Win7.
I have Netframe 3.5, JavaScript, all drivers. and DTools Lite. DotNet is fully enabled.
I have probably installed this 20-30 times. At the end of every install "Installation successful".
But it does not work.

Immediate questions:
1. At the end of the install, I see the select marque and select model pages/frames.
The fonts on on these are not what I am used to seeing. Are different fonts used on different versions ?
2. Half way through the install "Installations of the tools is required by your profile". comes up.
I don't recall seeing that before. But the install continues undeterred.
3 Finally I select Citroen, I then select Berlingo and BOOM..........

ERREUR DE CHARGEMENT DE CELLULE: erreur de C dans la cellule:
Session = Portail
SP = 2
Line = 3
Column = S
File = C:\AWRoot\dtrd\tree\script_vcistateaobt.s traitment de cellule impossible.
4. Why did it suddenly go French on me? I did translate it to English, but that left me none the wiser.
Any/all help is much appreciated,
Michael
