Berlingo 1.6 HDi 2007 - External temperature -
#1
Thumbs Up
Hi everybody,
Since I've changed my radio unit with another upgraded system, which came with a new display with more informations, now i have the external temperature indicator with "--". Of course i don't have the sensor on the mirror, but I'm wondering if it is possible to install it. The question is :Where i have to check for the connection of the sensor, on the display or somewhere else? Which colours are the wires that I'm looking for? Thanks a lot in advance.

Black wires, and they should be at the mirror plug on the drivers side already if you can add the sensor.. They go all the way to the BSI, not the radio display. It is only showing the value told to it by the BSI computer.

Did you use a adapter for the wiring?

The display functions for some reason do need the old stereo. If you remove it you will need a special wiring harness. Also if you have the steeringwheel controls then the adapter wil make sure the aftermarket stereo is able to use those as well

After a long search, I've bought an upgraded stereo RD4 style, which has everything included in the package, wiring adapter, extra cables as aux and usb, and new style display. For the first time in my life Smile was all plug&play.

Oh sorry I missed a little bit, I didnt see you didnt have the temp sensor. That stereo looks really cool btw Smile

On my 2007 Partner the sensor was missing and I did replace it. Maybe this will help you: https://www.berlingoforum.com/thread-19898.html
I had a look if I may had more photo's but sadly not.

There is the way of rerouting a pin inside the door connector or something, but if I where you id take off the doorpanel to see if arround the RHD mirror there is a unused socket. Should be a two pin thingy. If so then you can just order the sensor (like I did in the above mentioned thread) and fit it the factory intended way.

Thanks a lot for your guide. I gave a quick check to you related post and tomorrow I'm going to try. Thanks again, and if you need any further information about the stereo feel free to contact me. I also put an amplifier plug and play from amazon, with a passive subwoofer in the trunk and it sounds really amazing. I can also provide pictures if needed. Cheers ? all
