1.6hdi on red Diesel
#1
I know your not meant to but I have 2012 1.6hdi berlingo and I’m looking to know can I run it on red Diesel or home heating oil. Know the dpf is still in the van.I’m shere some of you out there run them on it has it’s just so cheep. Was going to pull the dpf out of the van but if she doesn’t mind the red I would leave in it.
Be interesting to see how many out or running of the red stuff  Big Grin

None that I've ever heard of. Buy legal diesel at the pump like the rest of us. We can't condone excise fraud on the forum.

He is obviously the DVSA incognito trying to get incriminating evidence on us upstanding citizens.
So where does this bit go then ?

If you buy a fish & chip shop you will be paying tax on the oil, so that might be a workaround...

Where I come from red Diesel is on the pump. Most people run on it. The government shouldn’t put so much tax of fuel. I can get red for 48p a Litre

It's illegal for car use and can potentially be noticed upon resale that the car has had it in it, also there are various additives that may be in it as well and these could not be good for the engine.  The seller also puts them self at risk of loosing their licence as HMRC require them to fill in sales data on a monthly basis.

Thread Locked, no further discussion.
