Hello I’m posting on here to get some advice on what to do about my 13 plate Citroen Berlingo van.
Basically my alarm on the van goes off every time there’s a hailstorm every single time and when I come to unlocking it to then lock it to then unlock to open the door the alarm goes off again. I’ve resorted to leaving the van unlocked if there’s hailstones throughout the night which seems to stop the alarm going off.
Is the alarm going off because the battery is low?
Is it a normal thing that this happens to these vans?
Do hailstorms really set alarms off?
Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening?
Cheers, ?

You're unusual, as probably the first person to come along with a van that actually has an alarm. They aren't a standard fit on the van but an option which I guess, not many folk took up.
There's a block looking thing, bigger than a cigarette packet with a blue plug at one end and a brown one at the other, that's the alarm module. It lives somewhere near the battery / fuse box in the engine bay. Disconnecting that may stop it.
Next is the actual siren which should be somewhere mounted on the drivers side inner wing ahead of the coolant expansion tank. Disconnect that too maybe.
It might record a fault code but no engine EML should be triggered (the fault light) though you may need it deactivated on the BSI using DiagBox software.

You can turn the alarm off on the van - here is a button if i recall to the right of the drivers wheel. Press that within ten seconds of removing the key and it will disable the alarm.
I used to use it when I parked up outside my factory and wanted to leave the windows open.

That one I'm sure only disables the internal Ultrasonic sensors so you can leave pets or people in the car without setting the alarm off.
Hail and wind may be setting off the tilt sensors.

TBH I would have thought that the heavy hail hitting the roof of the van is probably setting off the ultrasonic sensors rather than the tilt sensors. Tilt sensors need quite a bit of movement for activation.

Aye good point - I'm forgetting mine has been soundproofed for so long and the bare roof is like a biscuit tin. Hmmmm I forgot how noisy even the rain used to be. Ultrasonics off it is then!
