New Berlingo owner!!!
#1
Hi all i am in Torquay Australia on the great ocean road and recently picked up a 2001 Citroen Berlingo with 130,000 km on it. A great little car in excellent condition and i am excited to get her up and running to use for camping trips. I am wanting to get tips and advice on where to get second hand or generic parts for her without breaking the bank. Thanks to all!!!! Mike.

Welcome to the Sanity!

Getting secondhand or generic parts cheaply?
Sure, just move to Europe... ;-)

Which engine do you have in it?

Welcome! I also have an M59 but live in the UK.

Thought it was Torquay Melbourne initially which I know as my son lives in Keilor/St Albans and used to work for Woolies at the Epping depot. I also know a bit about VicRoads as I have a Postie bike which I bought to use there so know a lot of the smaller roads around there.

I've not been for 3 years now due to various but have spent 2 winters there (ours, not yours) Can't wait to get back there when things open up.

Last time out I took about 20kg of motorcycle gear over then brought back a couple of parts for one of my bikes here. Doubt if I could get much in the way of car parts though.

Oh, I've edited my reply due to not having read your post properly the first time. I have been there too as my son had a campervan and we did part of the Great Ocean Road. Next time we are going to Southend SA (I'm from Southend Essex)

I reckon I am going to have issues finding parts for the berlingo..... a shame as it’s such an awesome vehicle. I guess I’ll have to just look after her and hope for the best.
I spent 9 years in Brighton, met my ex wife there (she’s over here as well) and I found the winters hard!!!

Another person with taste then. TBH the postie is a bit slow and trying to keep up with my son's Suzuki is a pain. I did hope to get a rack for his Toyota camper but he wrote it off at Christmas and is struggling to replace it. I may ship the Honda home and buy something a bit bigger out there.

I have bikes of various sizes, long journeys with small Hondas are easy with the Berlingo especially when camping.  Big Grin

Your towbars & racks are very different to ours. The one on the Berlingo is ideal as the main bracket bolts behind the towball and stays there. You just plug in 2 fittings and go.

I did a lot of research last year and thought I'd found an ideal solution for my son's Toyota Hiace camper. Think this was via one of the Postie FB groups. Then he wrote it off. I was the one who found it originally when I was visiting.
