I have recently moved from an 03 plate Berlingo 2.0HDi to a 56 Partner 1.6HDi. Other than the engine and trim, I didn't expect any changes, I thought the M59 remained the same until the B9 in 2008.
I noticed that my Haynes Manual says it covers 'up to 55 plate'. Were there changes between 55 and 56? If so, is there a list anywhere?
One difference is, I'm sure, with the pedals. They seem to be much closer together, I struggle to drive it with my workboots on and it's none too easy wearing trainers.
I'm also a bit concerned at the lonely looking connector in the attached pic. Should it be connected somewhere?

Your Haynes manual might be an older version, mine covers P to 60 reg or 96-2010. There are always some changes through the years, but nothing drastically different.
The pedals, tell me about it. Yes, there are close and I find it rather difficult with my 11.5 shoe size. Who thought that the distance was good enough.
I have the same cable/plug at the same position unplugged. It has been covered before, but there are different specs on these engines and some have additional features/spec that are not present in yours/mine, hence the cable is unplugged. Nothing untoward.
I have a vague memory noticing exact;y the same thing with my Haynes manual. IIRC, in the end I realised that it had been published/printed in 2006 or thereabouts.
As for my size 15s, I think I'll keep to my 53 plate!

In the dim distant past I do remember that there were some small differences to the electrics between my own 2004 model Multispace and a 55 plate 1.6Hdi.
In particular think there was a different arrangement of the sliding door locking system, an electronic farkle meant you could not open it if the car was moving.

I don't think things have improved much with the K9 - on several occasions, while wearing work boots, I've unwittingly done an emergency stop due to my clutch foot catching my brake foot when changing gear while slowing down. This has never happened in my M49. Fortunately no-one's slammed into the back of me yet.

I've just measured my pedals (lol). Surprisingly, the clutch and brake are no closer together in the K9 than in the M49 (about 6cm apart in both), so the foot-catching must be caused by something more subtle - maybe the overall driving position, or the pedals are angled differently. One for the ergonomics people!
