Hi, I have a 2007 multi space 1.6hdi , I am having battery problems on frosty mornings but not when it is warmer weather, the battery discharges and the battery light is on, after recharging the battery the light goes out but comes back on for a few seconds then is usually ok all day, the next day it is low again, the battery warning light will some times come on and the battery will discharge when driving , but the problem is not on all the time, any help would be appreciated, cheers

You might have some parasitic current draw from somewhere and it is discharging the battery when switched off ofor example. You can easily check with a multimeter to see where exactly it is coming from. I only had a quick search and here is a video of how to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KF1gijj03_0
Might not be the best one out there, but you will get the gist of it.
Of course with the multimeter you can also check if the alternator is producing enough current/voltage to charge the battery, as it may be due to the alternator rather than parasitic voltage draw.

You will probably end up changing both the battery and the alternator if it is sometimes discharging when driving. If it is discharging overnight when cold that is normally a bad battery.

Does it have an aftermarket stereo? Some folk have found certain stereos not powering down properly and draining the battery.
What voltage do you get at the battery terminals when it's running? Should be around 14.4v and no less than 11v while cranking.

None of that means it's not draining the battery down now......try disconnecting it for a few days and see if the problem goes away.
