Does anyone know what the standard spring rate is for an Mk1 berlingo 1.6 hdi? Mine is a 600 model, but the spring rate for any m49 m59 will do.
Thanks

The rears on yours are torsion bars btw..Not coil springs.
But no idea on the spring rates.

IIRC there are different springs for the front depending on the engine size and weight carrying capacity. I think that catcar.info will list them. As Zion says, the rear is torsion bar, but probably has a different pre-load depending on weight capacity.

Yeah, just the fronts. I know the different colour codes for the various engines but not the actual spring rate. I want to know so i can get some main springs made for some coilovers that will be a little higher rating than standard. The main spring that i already have wouldn't compress if the titanic was sitting on it.
Not bad for track use but my van is just going to be an advertising thing and only ever get used on the road. But i want to keep my teeth and spine in one piece so these are no good

I remember changing the strut top bearing on my 1.6HDi M59, it was the stiffest spring I've ever come across and had to take it to a local garage to get it reassembled. Even the garage was surprised at how strong it was.
I'm wondering if one of the petrol versions would have softer springs?
