Alarm randomly went off

I pressed the unlock button on my van this morning but it didn’t unlock and the alarm started going off, I had to unlock manually and turn the ignition on for it to go off. I checked all doors and it doesn’t look like anyone had try to get in. I’ve ordered a new battery for the key fob to see if that helps. Does anyone else have any idea? Thank you.

Your battery (main van battery) may be getting near the point of needing replaced, a bad battery can cause the alarm to sound as the voltage drops too low, it is programmed to sound the alarm if the battery is disconnected under the bonnet. The sounder has an independent battery pack inside it, enough to run till it depletes while alarming.

Ok thanks mate. I’ll keep an eye on it then. It’s the first time it’s ever happened and been fine for the rest of the day being locked and unlocked with no alarm so hopefully it was a one off. Thanks bud.
