I am replacing the rear discs and pads on the 2008 B9 and the brackets that the calipers mount to are slightly corroded. The area where the anti squeal / vibration plates for the pads sit are a bit corroded. I have cleaned them up with a file, but I am wondering whether these should be replaced or will the vibration plates that come with the pads compensate for any surface issues on the caliper mounts?
The vehicle has done 120k
Thanks

The cast parts are very robust and some surface corrosion shouldn't affect their serviceability. Your filing, and if you have some, a coat of Kurust, followed by a smear of Coppaslip, should do the trick. The anti-squeal, if the sort that is glued to the back of the pad has some 'give', will also help.
