Boot liner
#1
Question
Does anyone know if you can get ahold of a good fitting boot liner? Mine is crumbling to pieces after 20 years... It'l need to fit the 5-seat multispace, and cover the whole boot when the back seats are pulled forwards, preferably with cutout holes for the seat hooks. I hope someone knows Smile

I've not seen an aftermarket one, I presume it's the same as the M59 but don't know.

It's a shame you're not in the UK as there must be hundreds of used ones where people have removed them to put ply flooring down.

I was surprised by the weight of mine and thought I might leave it out but left it in place.

I would see if I could cut a new one from rubber flooring using the old as a template.

I found a sheet of high density polystyrene blowing about outside which must have fallen off a lorry (actually not an excuse for the judge) and I cut it to fit the boot with a sharp knife. There's another piece of thin rubber sheet which came from a supermarket over the top of it to stop stuff sliding about.
So where does this bit go then ?

Just my kind of "engineering". If you ever happen on sheets of Palfoam which fall off of lorries they are worth scavenging. Thousands of uses.  Big Grin

Mine is crumbling on my M59, I have looked around but had no luck yet. OEM price is mad.

One thing I will say, I think what is crumbling might also include some sound deadening underneath the liner. It might be worth bearing that in mind when trying to get a replacement.

Just bought some rubber matting for mine off ebay for exactly the same reason. Going to use the old one as a template.
